COMPUTING
Go back to Curriculum..
The school is very well resourced with a fantastic Computer Suite, Interactive Whiteboards and computers in all teaching areas, a wide range of recording equipment and digital cameras, video cameras, microphones, digital microscopes and iPads.
Information handling forms an additional means of developing children’s skills in all areas of the curriculum. The children are able to use word processing to present cross-curricular themes, and the Internet to search for information. Children learn basic computer programming, including coding and debugging, from simple floor robots right up to creating on-screen computer games and programs. Information Technology (IT) is widely used to support and enhance teaching across the curriculum.
Discrete lessons are used to teach IT skills. E-safety is taught as part of IT and PSHE and is embedded throughout the school, to ensure that children feel confident when using computers and the Internet, and know what to do if they come across something either inappropriate or uncomfortable.
