We follow the Bedfordshire Agreed Syllabus, which is predominantly Christian but gives opportunities to appreciate cultural diversity and to develop an awareness of similarities and differenced between other faiths and cultures, promoting spiritual, moral, cultural and social development. Christian Values are embedded throughout the school.
A daily act of worship takes place and is led either by the Headteacher, Class teacher, pupils or the Vicar. There is a regular ‘Open the Book’ Assembly, which members of the Church lead. Collective Worship provides an opportunity for meeting to share ideas and interests, and the children are helped to realise that they are part of the school community. The content of Assemblies is predominantly Christian and include religious stories and values themes, such as respect, caring for others, caring for the environment, honesty, friendship, etc. The Year 5 Collective Worship Ambassadors help to plan and lead assemblies.
All parents have the right to withdraw their children from R.E. lessons and the daily act of worship.
